The Social Security Sell Out

Dear Readers:

It is 2012 and the battle lines are drawn. It is not Republican v.s. Democrat. It is not Obama vs. who ever. It is a government, state and federal vs. the people who they are suppose to work for. The battle is whether they will continue to work for us (supposedly) or we become drones of the state. Get your arms around that.

Believe at this point in time our government thinks of us as the enemy. Do not forget that the media for all intents and purposes is on the side of the established government and at this point in time truth is the first casualty.

You were told before the holidays that 160 million people face a tax increase. The real debate that went on was whether to raid the social security trust fund for future recipients or not. You were not told this because the media kept out of the stories anyone who framed the debate that way. You and I know social security is broke. So how can de-funding the only mechanism that funds it be a tax increase?

Since forever, we have been told that it is the Republicans that wish grandma to eat cat food. This last debate showed one and all it is the Democrats, RINO Republicans and the media that wants to do that. It was the onslaught of stories about there being a possible tax increase, complete with phony polls. The cowardly Republican leadership caved again and so we have now turned an insurance program into another welfare program. This proved again that when Republicans compromise, it is their principals that are sacrificed.

The Conservative Republican base was right to initially vote no and stick to their principals. They were defeated by politicians and media that put their selfishness above the country's self interest. They successfully were able to confuse the electorate and blur the lines between selfish and self interest.

Our Congresswoman Nan Hayworth was right in her initial vote. State Republicans should have supported her. They did not. Even our own phoney conservative State Senator Ball sent out a press release condemning her for her vote on our behalf. He too, believed raiding the social security trust fund was a good thing.

2010 was not an aberration. Party leaders, the media and ruling class elected official want you to believe it was. In 2010 the voters started to take back their government. The battle continues in 2012. You must remind those in office that your anger has not abated. Only you can defend your freedoms. If you abdicate your duty, not only will we get four more years of this, the establishment will double down and freedom as we know it will be the final casualty. This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.

In My Opinion:Open Letter To State Senator Greg Ball

Dear Senator Ball:

As your more times than not only media supporter, I am writing this hoping to bring a reality check to you. Your latest actions have given me pause for concern. It was once asked "what profit a man who gains the whole world but loses his soul?" I must now ask " what profit you to gain a few Democrat votes but lose your Conservative base in the process?" You are sincerely in danger of losing your base. You are sincerely in danger of becoming your predecessor, without the corruption.

Like him, you campaigned from the right, and then vote left. Like him, for committee chairmanships, you  carry the water for party leaders no matter how much it hurts your district. Like him, you are trying to blur the lines between parties in an effort to cement a ruling class of which you seem to want to be a apart of. Like him, you a getting kind words from Democrat not by convincing them you are right on your positions, but by adopting the language of their talking points.

Worse than those, like him, you are becoming vain and venial with your banning those who may disagree with you from your "Facebook" page and potentially alienating your partner in the Assembly by picking a fight with his wife. Will you like your predecessor now finance a primary opponent in next years state office elections? Will you now become that which you once despised?

You stand in the way of economic progress and potentially the next greatest job creating source in a state that sorely needs good paying, long lasting jobs by standing in the way of the next great source of domestic energy, "Fracking". You are carrying the water of flat earth people using scare tactics not ground in fact, but hysteria. You pretend that New York has the same lack environmental standards of Pennsylvania and Wyoming.

Now you vote for a tax increase that I would bet real money you would have voted against if you were still in the Assembly. You know this is a con job. The question now becomes is this the real you? Did you fool me and all those that supported your in your various races in the past? Have you now gone "Hollywood", letting your new found influence go to your head?

You can not undo the damage your vote to increase taxes has done. However you can come down on the side of jobs and stop carrying the water for environmental extremists. It will not be enough for you to talk Conservative, you must now prove yourself and walk Conservative. This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.

Albany's new con job

In My Opinion:Albany’s new con job

Dear Readers:

Andrew Coumo, our Governor is no more or no less than any other Albany politician or governor who came before him since his Father was Governor. When the special interests speak, he, like those now in the legislature and Governor’s before him cave. This new tax code reform bill is just that, a cave to special interests. It does not do what he promised, that which was the central point of his campaign, a promise not to raise taxes. No matter the spin, it raises taxes.

There has been no actual cuts to government spending. All that had been cut is rate of growth. Even his promised new budget will propose an increase of 2% in government spending. The State of New York confiscates through taxes, fees and surcharges 132 billion dollars and it is not enough! We spend more per student and more per patient than any other state with anemic results, and we are told any real time cuts or rate of growth cuts would be draconian.

We are getting less value per dollar, and the only thing those in Albany can say is we need higher taxes. Why? Where is the money going? Easy, not to the students or the patients. It goes to salaries which are fair as they are, and benefits and pensions which are not. They are bloated, unreasonable and bankrupting the state
The monies go to Albany politicians and their cronies, their non-profits which enrich and cements the loyalties of those dependent upon them. The Governor said, as he changed his tune, that New York is the most progressive (read liberal) state, as if that was something to be proud of.

All involved in this charade, Republicans and Democrats alike, cheer this for next year as they run for re-election, they will have more tax dollars to give away to buy votes. And buy them they will. And be bought you will.

We are cheering the codification of a bottom line of 132 billion dollars. This is insane. We are cheering the codification of the status-quo as we go into this election cycle. What we are not getting or going to get are new jobs and the businesses that create them.

Think “Fracking”. The next big domestic jobs maker, private sector union and others since the micro-chip. The need for tax increases would not exist as tax, fee and surcharges would more than make up the shortfall of reasonable spending by the state. BTW: our State Senator opposes this as he continues his move to the left.

State Senator Greg Ball, like the rest of the Republicans who ran two years ago and until this measure passed, vowed not to raise taxes. Like all political ,promises, it was a crock. You are being told the infamous MTA Tax is pretty much gone. However the State will re-emburse the MTA with 250 million out of their coffers. Who the hell do you think the State is? You that’s who. You are still on the hook for this money. It is called “bait and switch”. Senator Ball thinks we are idiots.

What we have elected is a new lap dog to replace the old lap dog. Me thinks this iis tied to re-disticting. If the Republicans go along with the Governor’s budget, he won’t veto the new re-drawn disticts. You watch, this is how it will play out. It is the only thing that makes sense.

The top 1% of tax payers in new York now pay 60% of all state taxes. That is more than their fair share. More of them will leave to friendlier states. Those who voted for this are nothing more that con men. Con only work when the Patsies believe there is something for nothing. In New York, we have too many of them allowed to vote. This is one group that I will not join, neither should you. This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.

The Establishment Republican Plot Against Conservatives

Dear Readers:

So, Herman Cain is out of the race for the Republican nod in the quest for the Presidency. The establishment Republican have another scalp. Yes, I said Republicans, establishment Republicans. It is way too early for the Democrats to bring out the long knives. Make no mistake, they would, if the Republicans were so busy eating their own as is their want.

The reality is the establishment want Mitt Romney. The polls show it. However the polls also show the establishment represent about only 25% of the primary voters. So the only way the establishment can get their way is to dirty the anybody but Romney candidate. Now it will be Newt Gingrich's turn. However, unlike the others, Newt is a known quantity. Much tougher bring out new dirt, as the old dirt has been aired infinitum.

Why, you ask, is the Republican establishment taking out the anti-Romey candidates? One would think that the objective is the Presidency. One would be wrong. This is about control of Congress and the Senate. The establishment believes Obama can beat Romney, as Mitt is just a younger version of McCain politically, willing to sacrifice Republican principal to appear reasonable. We know how that kind of candidate ends up.

This is about money and power and who controls the levers of both. As for power, it is about committee chairmanships and the ability to dole out money and allow or prevent political appointments and legislation. It is the ruling class cementing their entrenchment. As for money, they know the Obama will veto any legislation that rolls back his political agenda. They know they will not have the votes to override. So they will go back to the voters time and time again, and blame Obama for high taxes, high energy, and socialized medicine.

The final outcome is the establishment will have all that money at their disposal. The conservative or tea party movement, if you will is a direct threat to this scheme. Get your arms around it is about power, money and the ruling class and not about you. If you do that, all that is about to unfold before the first primary vote next year will be clear. The only thing that stands in the way is an educated voter. It is your duty to educate yourself. This is my Opinion, you may beg to differ.

Has President Obama come to a Lyndon Johnson moment?

Dear Readers:

To those readers where Vietnam and student protests of the '60's is not a history lesson the question is has President Obama come to a Lyndon Johnson moment? Protesters have taken to the streets. Soldiers are dying in overseas wars. Real inflation is on the rise. Gas and food prices are higher that a year ago. People feel the President is out of touch with the populace.

The only thing missing is actual racial inequity. To be clear, it is not like the sixties. God, to ignore the progress made, and the dumbing down of those terms. Other countries may still have these problems is worse case scenarios, but our advancements over them can not be ignored. There is economic inequity that crosses all lines. There are those who wish to keep people in perpetual victim hood, there bye relieving them of responsibility of their personal choices. My statement in 2011 is accurate and acknowledges progress made.

Now prominent Democrat talking heads have written an editorial in The Wall Street Journal (11/21/11) suggesting that for the good of the party, for the good of the country, President Obama declare he will not seek re-election. In a piece titled "The Hillary Moment"
by former Carter pollster Pat Caddell and former Clinton pollster Doug Schoen, they make a compelling argument that Obama should step out of next years presidential elections. They believe should he step down, that Hillary Clinton would get the nod by acclimation.

The thrust of their argument is that Obama has lost the support of the people and even should he win, will not be able to govern. Not only that, but by being on the ticket, he will bring the rest of the party down to depths not seen since 1952.

They argue that to win, Obama must wage such a "scorched earth" campaign, he would never get any legislation passed. He can't run on four more years of this. High unemployment, lousy housing market, energy costs through the roof, and the implementation of "Obama Care" whether the Supreme Court legalizes it or not.

No, the campaign now being waged, and only to get worse, is to scare the electorate into not voting Republican. You see it now, Republicans want grandma to die, are in favor of dirty air and water, are in the pocket of the rich, and want the poor to starve. He is acting like he just got to Washington, by running against a congress that has only been in power 11 months, hoping people forget he had both legislative branches for his first two years, and no matter what he inherited, his policies over those two year have only exasperated them.

Caddell and Schoen are right. Obama will assure Republicans control of both legislative houses. He must step out of the race like Johnson and Truman before him. Hillary would get the nod. That would be better for the party. However I am not so sure it would be better for the country. This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.

A "Do-Nothing" Congress Is A Good Thing

Dear Readers:

You are being told my the stenographers in the media that the "super committee" was a failure. These same people are telling you that congress is at it's lowest poll numbers because that have not accomplished anything. These conclusions are born of a mind set that government is and has the answers to our problems. It does not for it can not.

That the "super committee" has done nothing is only good news for us. We have a 1.4 trillion dollar deficit. We are 9 trillion dollars in debt. Yet these smartest people in the room could not find 1.2 trillion dollars over ten years to cut from government spending without increasing taxes. That is because those institutionalized government officials really and truly do not believe government can not do with less.

This committee was bound to fail because the playbook of the President is to run against a "do-nothing" congress and there is no way the Democrats on this committee would allow any accomplishment for it would negate the President's re-election agenda. Proof of that is that the Republicans did offer 500 million dollars in revenue enhancements (read that as increased taxes) and the Democrats walked out of the room.

This bring us to the second point, congresses' poll numbers. The Republicans were voted control of Congress not to work with the democrats and the President, but to thwart and overturn the havoc they wrecked on this economy during their two years of total government control. That the establishment Republicans did what they always do, compromise their principals to look like they are reasonable people, to get good reviews in the media, is why their numbers are low.

They truly believe that last November was an aberration. They think voters had a temper tantrum and cooler heads must prevail. They too think that they know what's best, not the voters. The "tea Party" anger that gave Republicans control of Congress has not waned, it has grown angrier.

Look at the debates. Romney represents the establishment Republicans and he can not garner more that 25% of support. The anti-establishment is still a strong 75%. This is telling.

The real problem is that both parties are still doing what they think will keep them in power. Trying to get re-elected is more important than doing what they were elected to do. For that a pox on both their houses. This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PEEKSKILL CITY COUNCIL:A Bazzo Editorial: Treating People Like Garbage Just To Be Fair

Dear Readers:
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PEEKSKILL CITY COUNCIL:

Item: Taxi cab fees have jumped from $260.00 a year to 335.00 a year. Hack licence was $125.00, now $175.00 That money does not go to the Police Department for enforcement, but to the general fund. Now you may be told that these monies are earmarked and allocated when the police budget is allocated. However like the lottery where those monies are said to go to education, it is not in addition to what would be allocated, but in lieu of monies allocated.

Item: The original intent of the taxi code review was to get a handle on cars and drivers. Part of that intent was a moratorium on new cars and drivers. It was allowed to expire. I was told be elected officials that there was not time for another public hearing to extend it. Who's fault is that? The moratorium extended thru August, September and October. Instead of keeping track and updated on the status, these politicians were TOO busy running for office to give a damn. Their desire for power superceded the needs of these small business owners. It was easier to let the moratorium expire and raise fees. Bottom line is that the council made it more expensive to do business and harder to make up those increased costs by allowing more cars and drivers on the road. Everything for their convenience.

Item: All new codes treat everyone at the lowest common denominator. We are to be treated like the worst among us. We are all potential drug addicts, reckless drivers and possible criminals. Those whose records shows excellent driving, no criminal convictions, or even allegations, are not rewarded for their efforts, but treated like crap. Being a law abiding citizen is a negative, you are lumped in with all the rest. Playing by the rules means nothing. Yet because when you read the papers, you see everyday another corrupt official in the federal cross hairs, if I were to lump all elected officials as corrupt, they would scream like stuck pigs saying that is not fair, look at my record. Take that into consideration. Well, I am saying the same thing, look at my record and take that into consideration. Why are my costs increasing (fingerprinting and drug testing) to pay for the sins of others. Why are my taxi fees increasing because you were so busy looking out for your self interest, you neglected mine.

Item: Like I wrote before, the council is hell bent on raising our liability, and therefore our insurance costs by thousands of dollars. This despite the fact they must have state approval. This despite the fact that we are in a recession and it is not projected to end anytime soon. Again, the lowest common denominator. No matter how long you have driven with a good record, you must be punished. By God you will be punished.

There is something inherently wrong with a mind set that believes you treat everyone like crap just to be fair. There is nothing fair about that. It is no way to treat law abiding small business owners.

Anthony J. Bazzo 11/17/11

P.S. BTW: I have been told by unofficial sources that there is an upcomming meeting about the liability issue. Why have I nor other taxi owners been notified. Is it because you do not want us there when you shaft us?

a.b.

P.P.S.: Total Increases:
Car: Lic: $75.00 Inspection: Was $40.00 Now: $50.0 $10.00 increase

Licence: $50.00
Finger Print:$84.00 plus gas and time to Mahopac
Drug test: $48.00 plus time

Normal time to renew: 45 minutes Now:3 days---45 minutes per day

Obama's Job Creation Lies

Dear Readers:

One day the members of private sector unions will wake up and figure out that government wishes to stamp you out. All they really want are public sector unions, which they can control. Government controls the purse strings. Those public monies are used to pay wages, benefits and pensions of public sector workers.
You donate to their campaigns and in return, we will protect you and your job even if it means economic ruin of the private sector.

It is those evil corporations that employ private sector unions. Every dime taken from the private sector for government use is money the private sector can not use for workers compensation and hiring. One day these private sector union workers will wake up to this reality.

Case in point. The Keystone XL pipeline. This pipeline would pass through Montana, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas. It is estimated it would bring in more than 700,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to the Texas Gulf coast. Now after four years of revue after revue after revue it has been put on hold till after next years elections by the Obama Administration to keep the tree huggers in their camp. This was even after the State Department’s recent Environmental Impact Statement found that the pipeline would pose few environmental risks.

This means that the estimated 25,000 private sector union jobs, the 100,000 private support jobs from new investments in small business and the projected $5.2 billion in property tax revenue as a result of building the pipeline are on hold till after 2012 just so those anti-energy people will continue to elect Democrats.

As I have pointed out before, high energy prices we experience are not by accident but by design. This would not lower prices with new oil, but stabilize prices by making up the lose of oil from Venezuela. It is the stabilization of the free flow of oil that calms the markets.

So during this new election cycle when you hear the President and Democrat Party leaders talk about job creation, know it is not private sector jobs but public sector, those requiring tax dollars to exist, they wish to create. The President and Democrat leaders do not give a whit about the private sector for they can not control them, their lives and count on their donations to their campaigns. This is about money and power and keeping it the hands of Democrats. Get your arms around that, and you will be a wiser voter next year.
This is my opinion, you may beg to differ.
