LET ME INTRODUCE MY SELF

MY NAME IS BAZZO AND THIS IS THE BAZZO MANIFESTO. WE WILL PAUSE HERE FOR
FIVE SECONDS WHILE YOU SAY WHO CARES AND THEN PROCEEDE.

THIS PAGE WILL OPERATE ON THE PREMISE THAT FEDERAL GOVT. AFFECTS YOU ONLY IN A PERIFIAL WAY, WHERE AS STATE AND LOCAL GOVT.'S AFFECT YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE.

NOT JUST IN PROPERTY TAXES AND SCHOOL TAXES, BUT ON YOUR ELECTRIC BILL, CELL PHONE BILL, CABLE BILL,THE GAS YOU PUT IN YOUR CAR ETC.

EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN N.Y,  HOPEFULLY YOU WILL START PAYING ATTENTION IN YOUR STATE AND WHAT GOES ON UNDER THE RADAR AFTER YOU READ MY UPDATES.

I WILL TRY ON A REGULAR BASIS TO PUT THINGS ON YOUR RADAR THAT YOU ARE MISSING WHILE GOING ABOUT YOUR DAILY LIVES. MAYBE TOGETHER WE CAN HAVE AN AFFECT ON LOCAL LEGISLATION AS MOST OTHER BLOGS TRY TO GET YOU

TO HAVE AN EFFECT ON NATIONAL POLICY. UNLIKE NATIONAL POLICY,

WHERE YOU NEED THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO BRING ABOUT

CHANGE, ON THE LOCAL LEVEL ONLY HUDREDS OF VOICES CAN DO THE SAME

THING. TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. ALSO I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED WHEN MY MONTHLY LETTERS APPEAR IN THE LOCAL PAPERS.

Um, you may want to check spelling and formatting before you post, bro. :-)

Andy you are absolutely correct. The MTA has raised fares twice, the first time 25% a little over a year ago and most recently this past March. They should be audited and fully disclose their finances to the public. The MTA's method of operation just doesn't pass the smell test. The government did a good job in nailing Bernie Ebbers, now they have to investigate the MTA and uncover any wrongdoing (or maybe there are to many politicians greasy palms involved)

As for the sales tax increases and the fees and taxes tacked onto the telephone and cable, well that's just another way for government to increase taxes under the radar of most of the public (except for Andy). Politicians like to brag that they are lowering federal taxes, meanwhile sales taxes, property taxes, and fees like vehicle etc. are going through the roof. These are taxes and fees that hurt the average working class more because the tax is flat and not indexed to income.

Just to follow up on ol professor's comments ... if the MTA were a private corporation, you can bet Eliot Spitzer (New York State Attorney General and candidate for Governor in 2006 for those of you outside New York) would be investigating them as we speak.

Hey, pegsterp. If you notice there is a smiley-face at the end of my comments. I was busting SeƱor Bazzo's chops.
I always take what he says very seriously. But I like to have a little fun with him, too.
Try it sometime.
