SUZI
MCDONOUGH CONTINUES GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN, TAKES MESSAGE STRAIGHT TO
VOTERS
Mother. Leader.
Neighbor.

Mahopac, NY (04/29/16) -- Carmel Town Board Member Suzi McDonough has always maintained that she would run a positive, grassroots campaign with or without committee
support and regardless of whether the incumbent Assemblyman was in the race or
not.
In the next few months Suzi is prepared to knock on thousands of doors and
decisively win this Republican Primary in September.
Suzi McDonough said, “Last night’s insider convention was just another attempt by
party bosses to keep a lid on the status quo. For me this has always been a door
to door, voter to to voter grassroots campaign. Fiercely independent, the
insiders and political bosses both here and in Albany know that I cannot be
controlled.
I am proud to have integrity and real grassroots support, not being endorsed by
proxies and the political machine is fine with me.  I am here to serve the
people of the 94th District, not the political machine
.
I look forward to meeting every voter in this district, sharing my pro life, pro
second amendment and limited government message and winning decisively, and
without party boss support, in September.”

Over the next several months, Suzi will also be hosting individual town hall meetings
to listen to the specific concerns of voters throughout the district. The dates,
times and locations will be finalized within a few weeks.

This is the third round of such listening tours and will allow Suzi to hear from
voters firsthand while building awareness of her campaign throughout Westchester
and Putnam counties. Suzi will also be hosting a number of low dollar
fundraising events including one to be held in the next few weeks. Details will
be released in the next few days.

Suzi has lived in Mahopac, a hamlet of Carmel, for over 50 years. She graduated from
Mahopac High School and a few years later married the love of her life, Jimmy
McDonough. Together, Suzi and Jimmy owned and operated successful businesses in
the Hudson Valley and have five amazing child.
The
94th Assembly District elections will occur in the Fall.

Putnam
County Executive MaryEllen Odell nominates New York State Senator Terrence
Murphy for a second term on April 27, 2016 at Sinapi's Ceola Manor in Jefferson
Valley.

JEFFERSON
VALLEY, NY - This week, State Senator Terrence Murphy accepted the
Republican
nomination for a second term representing the 40th Senate District during the
Republican Convention at Sinapi's Ceola Manor.

Although
the 2014 race was hotly contested, Murphy defeated his opponent by twelve points
on election day. Since then, Murphy has become one of the most effective
lawmakers in Albany, particularly for a freshman, passing a statewide bill to
grant parity for Vietnam veterans, achieving his goal to end Common Core,
restore the Gap Elimination Adjustment and delivering a record amount of school
funding for our local schools, roads and infrastructure.

Senator
Murphy also helped create the best paid family leave program in the country,
passed the Women's Equality Act and his Westchester Clean Water Act to keep
inland waterways clean, along with funding the largest conservation project in
Westchester to clean up and restore the Croton landfill meadow.

Putnam
County Executive MaryEllen Odell nominated Murphy during the convention. "I
didn't have to prepare any notes today, I can do this right from the heart," she
said. "Terrence Murphy has served the people of the fortieth district
brilliantly."

"He's served them with compassion, he's served them with his heart and soul, and he's served them with the underlying message that family is first," Odell said. "I believe if you put your first foot forward with family first, you can't go wrong. I think that senator murphy has shown us not only his love for family and his commitment to his district, but he has shown us that he is tough, and he's shown us that he is not afraid and he can't be intimidated.

She continued, "I think the most remarkable and outstanding thing that I have seen, and I've known the senator for quite some time, which I think that we can all say, is his authenticity, one of the hardest things to find from an elected official these days. We've seen a lot of people go to Albany to change Albany, but we've seen a lot of people have Albany change them. One thing is for sure, Senator Murphy has changed, but he's changed for the better. He's stronger, he's more committed, he's more dedicated, and he absolutely continue to represent with dignity and class."

"We passed term limits for leadership in the Senate, cut income taxes by twenty-percent and passed business tax cuts in two straight on time budgets that stay within a self-imposed spending cap," Murphy said. "We introduced legislation to monitor the influx of Syrian Refugees and stood up against the radical and insane over reach to grant teaching and medical licenses to illegal immigrants while the service men and women of our Armed Forces and their spouses are told their training is no good."

He continued, "But there is so much more that needs to be done! From cleaning up our government and finally putting the public interest ahead of self-interest, to fixing the unfair school funding formula that penalizes Westchester schools and taxpayers, to reigning in out-of-control Albany rule makers who stifle business growth with over-regulation, and shifting toward a system where we provide real property tax relief instead of just addressing property tax growth, I will need your support."

Murphy
received a unanimous vote from the members of the Westchester Republican County
Committee, Putnam County Republican Committee and Dutchess Republican County
Committee in attendance.

SENATOR MURPHY DELCARES VICTORY FOR HUDSON VALLEY PETS AMID CLOSING OF MOHEGAN LAKE PET STORE
Owner Remains Embroiled in Animal Abuse Charges

MOHEGAN LAKE, NY - A pet store owner in Mohegan Lake has announced he will be closing his doors for good following a new series of violations stemming from his former Danbury pet store.  As reported by the Danbury News Times, Mr. Richard Doyle, 56 of Mahopac, "maliciously caused wounds" to a St. Bernard puppy according to an arrest warrant and has been charged with animal cruelty and practicing veterinary medicine without a license.  This is Doyle's third arrest since July of last year.

"Today is a great day for animal lovers, our local community, and most importantly, our pets," State Senator Terrence Murphy said.  "New York needs to set a strong example that animal abuse, especially by individuals who are charged with caring for them, cannot and will not be tolerated."

Murphy has been at the forefront of holding animal abusers accountable by proposing and passing legislation to strengthen penalties for animal abusers as well as calling for immediate inspections by New York's Department of Agriculture and Markets of any pet dealers charged with these heinous crimes.

Following the new charges lodged against Doyle, Senator Murphy sent a letter to the New York State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, formally requesting Doyle's license as a pet store owner in New York State be suspended until the legal process concluded any wrong doing.  Upon Mr. Doyle's original charges, Senator Murphy penned a letter requesting immediate and "regularly scheduled inspections" of Doyle's Westchester store.

Since first being charged last year, Doyle has sold or closed his otherother stores, including establishments in Danbury, Mamaroneck and Wappingers Falls.  Now, the store owner has confirmed to the Yorktown News that he will be shutting the doors to his Mohegan Lake store at the close of business today.

"Three strikes and your out," Murphy said.  "Animal cruelty in of itself is despicable but when someone is charged on three separate occasions it is time for New York State to step in and do the right thing.  Despite today's good news, I still believe Mr. Doyle's license should be suspended as an order of protection, until the courts rule on all of the charges he is facing, and if found guilty, his license needs to be permanently revoked.  This will not only prevent him from opening another establishment but send a clear message to animal abusers across the state that New York will not take these crimes lightly."
