New York Presidential Primary

Video News Release; Chairman Kaplowitz Proposes $30 Million Capital Investment at Playland Amusement Park
Proposal would match private operators investment.
Following Friday's joint meeting of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, Labor Parks Planning and Housing Committee and Infrastructure Committee, Board of Legislators Chairman Mike Kaplowitz presented a financial analysis of the proposed amendment to the management agreement for a private investor to operate Playland Amusement Park.
A video of Chairman Kaplowitz’ presentation can be viewed here;
Chairman Kaplowitz’ analysis holds that a balanced share of investment, $30 million from Standard Amusements, the private operator and $30 million in bonded capital projects from the County would result in a deal that would protect taxpayers while preserving one of our most valuable county assets for many decades to come.  Coincidentally the length of the agreement is 30 years.
Playland is an important economic driver creating more than $27 million in regional annual economic activity.  Playland also provides seasonal jobs for hundreds of young adults.
The next joint committee meeting on the Playland agreement will be held at 9:00AM on Thursday, March 24th.

Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, and there's a new dynamic on the stage, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform. You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music. Tonight features JP on lead vocals, Blues harp & alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), Linda Geiger on drums, Paul Bisbano on bass, Dave McDowell on sax and other special guests. NO COVER.

They've also been featured with The Allman Brothers, Little Feat, and Bernard Purdie's AllStars, and other notable acts. This 7-piece, horn-driven band plays Soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz and Roots music. These guys are seriously good, and they have such a good time on stage, you can't help but enjoy every minute of it. $10 Cover or $5 with Dinner.

Nassau County, NY--March 21st...State Republican Chairman Ed Cox today blasted Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky for welcoming President Obama's handpicked Democrat National Committee Chair and a strong supporter of the one-sided Iran nuclear deal to Long Island last night to raise money for his campaign for state Senate.
Kaminsky, in the throes of a crucial special election that is trending in the direction of his Republican opponent, joined Wasserman Schultz and Long Beach Democrats over cocktails and dinner at the Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park.  Wasserman Schultz was the event's keynote speaker and Kaminsky was its special guest.
"Fresh off receiving the backing of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Todd Kaminsky threw his arms around President Obama's handpicked, pro-Iran DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz just so he could raise a few more dollars for his campaign for the state Senate.  It's clear there's only one candidate in this race who will put the interests of Long Island and the state of Israel ahead of the interests of New York City and Washington, D.C., and that's Chris McGrath," Cox said.
Cox took Kaminsky to task for bringing in Wasserman Schultz, a key supporter of the President's Iran nuclear deal, at a time when Israel is under attack from Iran and still being threatened to be "wiped off the map."
"Debbie Wasserman Schultz took her cues from President Obama and backed a one-sided nuclear deal with Iran, which was good for Iran but bad for the United States and its allies in the region, especially the state of Israel.  Todd Kaminsky and his left-wing, anti-Israel cronies are completely out of touch with the people of the 9th Senate district," Cox concluded.
