Last week, Governor Cuomo released his budget proposal for the coming fiscal year.  While there were some good proposals, such as increased funding to address our aging infrastructure, there are others that require closer examination.  I look forward to a rigorous and thoughtful process to ensure we give everyone in our great State the opportunity to succeed.

New York's budget is an incredibly complex proposal that directly impacts the lives of its residents.  I believe it is our responsibility to to ensure your tax dollars are being spent wisely.  I encourage you to get the facts of the Governor's proposed budget. READ MORE
Did you know that donating one pint of blood can save three lives?  On Wednesday I will be hosting an important blood drive at the Mt. Pleasant Community Center from 12pm to 6pm!

As a healthcare provider, I know all too well how important it is to ensure we have a stable blood supply.  More than 4.5 million Americans receive blood transfusions each year and cancer patients are always in need.

Please call my office at (914) 962-2624 to schedule a time to give or if you have any questions.
HEROIN TASK FORCE CALLS FOR STATEWIDE NARCAN REGISTRY We must take every step necessary to eradicate New York of the heroin epidemic.  By collecting more accurate data through our proposed Narcan registry we can help ensure the needed resources are being sent to those communities facing the greatest scourge.  This will help make enforcement more efficient and ultimately save lives.  READ MORE
While we inducted him into the Veterans' Hall of Fame this past fall, Eugene Vavrek's health prevented him from joining us.  I had the opportunity to visit him and his wife at the Veterans' Home at Montrose.  Along with Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker, we formally inducted him as a member of the Veterans' Hall of Fame Class of 2015!
Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Tournament
I got to spend time this weekend coaching my son Jack's travel basketball team at the MLK Jr. Tournament in New Castle.  We fell short in the championship game but the boys played with a ton of heart.  Great job guys!

I joined Westchester County Legislator John Testa and Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace to honor the Lakeland Field Hockey Team.  This incredible program is riding a four year win streak and locked up their seventh consecutive state title!
