Maloney Statement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action
Washington, DC – Today, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) released the following statement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA):
“After careful consideration, I have decided to support the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. I have studied the agreement; consulted with hundreds of my constituents; attended multiple classified and unclassified briefings; met with regional experts; questioned senior Administration, military, and intelligence officials; and engaged in direct conversations with the President of the United States.
I have concluded that the JCPOA is an imperfect but workable framework that preserves the United States’ ability to prevent, by any means necessary, Iran’s acquisition of a nuclear weapon. The agreement, however, cannot succeed without strong and unwavering American leadership on implementation and compliance. Our message to Iran must be crystal clear: if you violate this agreement or otherwise seek a nuclear weapon, the United States -- with or without our allies -- will use overwhelming military force to stop you and devastate your regime.
“I have heard from many friends and neighbors who sincerely believe that this deal could be detrimental not only for the United States but for Israel, and I take those concerns very seriously. Israel is our eternal friend and ally. As my record demonstrates, I am committed to ensuring the security of Israel, and would not support this agreement if I thought it would do otherwise.
“American involvement in protracted Middle East conflicts has taught us that war should only be undertaken as a last resort. We have a moral responsibility to exhaust all other options before using force. We owe that to the thousands of young Americans who lost their lives or were grievously injured in Iraq and elsewhere, and to those young Americans from the Hudson Valley and across the nation who could yet be called to serve in a future war in Iran. We must both work for peace and remain ready to use all necessary military power to protect our country should the need arise. I believe this agreement allows us to do both.”

Maloney Introduces New Legislation to Invest in Critical Infrastructure
Washington, DC – Today, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced the introduction of his new legislation, the Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Investment Act, which will allow for faster and more efficient investment in crucial transportation and infrastructure projects around the country. In the past, public-private partnerships, known as P3s, have provided innovative funding solutions for infrastructure projects by linking public investments with private sector resources and efficiencies.
“Investing in infrastructure creates tens of thousands of good paying jobs, boosts our economy, and serves commuters and businesses for decades,” said Rep. Maloney. “This bill helps our country improve our infrastructure faster, more efficiently and at less cost to the tax-payer. It is a win-win, particularly for New Yorkers.”
In addition to serving on the exclusive Public-Private Partnership Panel for the House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Maloney has a long history fostering government and private sector cooperation. “When I was working in the Governor’s office and in the private sector, I spearheaded initiatives to develop Public-Private Partnerships, because these creative partnerships allow us to make strategic investments in transportation and infrastructure while lowering costs for tax payers. This bill will unlock badly-needed resources to improve the roads, bridges and rail lines New Yorkers rely on.”
Rep. Maloney’s bill would modernize and improve the coordination between the government and private sector by directing the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) to establish a Transportation Procurement Office to work with the modal agencies, states, and other grant recipients on implementing design-bid-build, design-build, and P3 procurement best practices, including P3 model contracts. In addition, the Office should issue best practices on standardizing state P3 authorities and practices, including fair and balanced assumptions made in the calculations, consistency on unsolicited bids, non-compete clauses, and other major elements.

Local Handcrafted Spirit Receives New York Times Nod
New York, September 9, 2015 – KAS Krupnikas, a small-batch spiced honey liqueur received a nod from the New York Times last week. The write-up in the Food section mentions the Lithuanian roots of the drink concocted by Mahopac resident, Kestutis Katinas and his wife Marushka Osman.
KAS Krupnikas is a spirit crafted with New York State honey, a combination of 10 spices and citrus to create an 80 proof liqueur that is popular with not only the Lithuanian community but also all craft spirit enthusiasts. KAS Spirits recently celebrated their one-year anniversary and now their first New York Times article.
“We are extremely flattered,” says Katinas. “The New York Times taking notice is a big deal for us as a local product and small, family-operated business and we are excited for the potential attention it may bring.”
The Times article also references the strength and “allurng sweetness”, recommending it be sipped alongside intense cheeses or blended with bourbons, apple brandies or in tea, which is perfect for the upcoming fall and winter months. The Times article will be joined by other recent press such as a review in the upcoming October issue of Wine Enthusiast boasting a score of 92.
“We consistently receive rave reviews from customers and mixologists but these recent press pieces really help bolster why were are in the business,” adds co-founder, Osman. “KAS Spirits has introduced this unique, complex, and delicious spirit to the beverage industry, hoping to someday become a well-known spirit category in its own right. The press we are receiving will help achieve that goal.”
KAS Krupnikas is currently available at fine bars, retailers, and online. It is being distributed directly by KAS Spirits, LLC and is available to licensed businesses in the state of New York. You can learn more about KAS Krupnikas by visiting or emailing them at

Is Sean Patrick Maloney Still #ReadyForHillary?
WASHINGTON - Team Clinton is headed to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today to meet with Democrat lawmakers, but just this week Clinton faced another embarrassing blunder on the campaign trail when she finally, and only half-heartedly, apologized for her inappropriate private email server. Clinton deemed her private server was “allowed,” ignoring the fact that she put America’s national security at risk. As Clinton’s ego continues to outweigh reason, she took another hit as a recent poll shows that her favorability with Americans is continuing to dwindle.
Meanwhile, National House Democrats have been claiming for months that Hillary Clinton’s coattails were going to boost their ability to recruit and chances of winning, but after months of failed recruitment efforts by the DCCC and poll after poll showing Clinton’s numbers are tanking, it’s clear she’s not the asset they hoped for.
So this visit from Team Clinton makes you wonder – Is Sean Patrick Maloney still #ReadyForHillary?
“Now that Hillary Clinton has tripped, faltered and stumbled her way through the summer, will Sean Patrick Maloney be waiting there for her with open arms? New York families deserve to know if Sean Patrick Maloney stands with them or if he stands with an untrustworthy Hillary Clinton who continues in her refusal to be honest and forthright with the American people,” said Katie Martin, NRCC Communications Director.

Statement from Chairman Cox on
Governor Cuomo's Minimum Wage Proposal

September 10, 2015

"Governor Cuomo had it right the first time when he said raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour was a 'non-starter.' His reversal is for purely political reasons and his concern for a primary challenge from his left, despite the consequences that it will drive even more residents and small businesses out of New York. We are already ranked at the bottom of the barrel in every major economic category, including the highest taxes, worst business climate, highest energy costs and more. How many more people or jobs need to leave New York before the Governor wakes up?"
