    Dear Anthony -
My mission in government has been consistent during my years of service.  I’ve always said that the government can do more for everyone if we are just a little bit smarter and more practical about our approach.
Unfortunately over the last six years we have seen the opposite approach taken to Westchester County government.  The County Executive may paint a pleasant picture in what he says but his actions speak louder about his priorities and his recent State of the County Address couldn’t have made that clearer.
As the Majority Leader on the County Board of Legislators, last week I had the opportunity to deliver the Democratic response to the State of the County Address.  I believe that the Democrats on the County Board of Legislators have a better approach to doing more for Westchester taxpayers and this response was a chance to articulate that vision as well as the failures of this administration.
We have found ways to save money by being smarter about how we spend.  Our top priority is making sure that every dollar goes as far as possible to do more for everyone in Westchester. Our caucus will continue to stand up for a brighter future for Westchester and resist irresponsible policies that fall short of achieving the high marks that taxpayers deserve.
I hope you’ll join me in those efforts.

    Sincerely,

    Catherine Borgia
    Majority Leader
    Westchester County Board of Legislators
