Statement from the Astorino Campaign on Cuomo's Debates
September 27, 2014
"This is more games from Andrew Cuomo. Despite their claims, there have been no negotiations between the campaigns. We have called for at least one televised debate between the two major party candidates, as is custom in every election from President of the United States on down. It's clear Governor Cuomo is terrified to go one-on-one with County Executive Astorino on television. Is it because he doesn't want people to see his face when he's asked about his role in the Moreland corruption scandal? The people of New York deserve better." --Jessica Proud, Astorino for Governor spokeswoman |

GALEF EARNS ENDORSEMENT OF NEW YORK LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS
The New York League of Conservation Voters announced their endorsement of Assemblywoman Sandy Galef for re-election to the New York State Assembly – 95th AD. The endorsement of this organization was made after reviewing her record on environmental issues, legislation that she has authored or supported, and her votes in the New York State Assembly.
“Voters in Westchester and Putnam counties care a lot about clean water, open space and our natural heritage. Fortunately, they have an Assembly member who shares their values, too: Sandy Galef,” said Nanette Bourne, Chair of the New York League of Conservation Voters’ Westchester Chapter. “Sandy has more than twenty years of experience and a long list of accomplishments, both in Albany and in the Hudson Valley. She is dedicated to protecting our environment for future generations, and we are proud to endorse her for re-election to the Assembly in District 95.”
“Protecting our environment and supporting laws and financial resources to accomplish that goal has always been one of my top priorities,” stated Galef. “It is an honor to have the support of this highly respected environmental organization.”
“We have experienced two years of many accomplishments in the state legislature including an increase of $8 million in the Environmental Protection Fund, legislation to deal with future climate risks, ways to deal with aquatic invasive species, protection to electric car manufacturers, and film plastic recycling. I plan to continue my efforts to encourage the use of alternative energy sources, such as solar and wind, in order to address the problems we encounter due to climate change,” concluded Galef.

ASTORINO CAMPAIGN UNVEILS
50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF "DAISY AD"
------
Redux of Historic TV Spot Highlights
Federal Corruption Probe into Andrew Cuomo
------
"Jail" Airing Statewide
New York--Sept. 29...A 50th anniversary redux of the most famous political advertisements in American history -- President Lyndon Johnson's "Daisy Ad" -- was released today by the campaign of reform New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino. "The Daisy Ad," which was shown only once, aired in September 1964.
Mr. Astorino's commercial, entitled "Jail," is being delivered Monday to network and cable television stations statewide. It's purpose is to create public awareness of the federal corruption investigation into Governor Cuomo that could result in his imprisonment. "Jail" will air for a single day in honor of the original Daisy spot. "This is not an ad you need to see twice," Astorino spokeswoman Jessica Proud said.
"Jail" employs scenes and techniques used by the Daisy creator in the 1964 television commercial, renown Democratic political consultant Tony Schwartz of Doyle Dane Bernbach. Like Daisy, "Jail" begins with a young girl sitting in a field picking petals from a daisy (in this case counting the number of indictments of Albany politicians in the past two years.) As she counts the number of petals she has plucked, an ominous countdown voiceover begins -- "10,9,8.." After the camera zooms all the way into one the girl's pupils, a mushroom cloud erupts, taking over the screen. But unlike the Daisy spot, the mushroom cloud in "Jail" morphs into a profile picture of Governor Cuomo, with the accompanying narration: "These are the stakes. Do we re-elect a governor who may end up in jail?"
"Every New Yorker needs to know about the federal corruption investigation into Andrew Cuomo that may land him in prison," Mr. Astorino, the two-term Westchester County Executive said. "No ad in American history captured the attention of the nation more than 'Daisy," and we believe this 50th anniversary version, 'Jail,' will similarly call attention to Andrew Cuomo's corruption scandal here in New York. This governor swindled New Yorkers into believing he was a reformer, then arguably turned out to be the most corrupt state governor in modern times. There is a giant cloud of corruption over New York, and its costing taxpayers dearly."
Mr. Cuomo is being investigated by federal prosecutors for possible Obstruction of Justice and Witness Tampering, among other things. Those charges carry prison sentences of up to 20 years.
The investigation into Mr. Cuomo stems from his interference into the Moreland Commission. Moreland was ostensibly created as an independent anti-corruption unit, but when investigators began looking into the Cuomo Administration itself, and into Mr. Cuomo's contributors, members of the Cuomo Administration stepped in to interfere, even calling for subpoenas to be pulled back. Mr. Cuomo then abruptly shut down the Commission while criminal investigations were still pending. The U.S. Attorney's office is also looking into whether Mr. Cuomo and his cohorts failed to refer criminal cases involving political allies and contributors to proper law enforcement agencies, as is required by law, when Moreland shut.
"Jail" is a 30-second commercial, as opposed to the "Daisy Ad," which ran for a full minute. "Jail" was produced by The November Team, LLC and TJ McCormack Productions.

Lalor Helps Falsely Accused Retired NYPD Officer Restore Benefits

East Fishkill, NY - (9/29/14) - The Social Security Administration had been holding up the reinstatement of disability benefits for Michael Kull, a retired NYPD officer injured at Ground Zero, before Kull contacted Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor (R,C,I - East Fishkill). Kull had been falsely accused of disability fraud. Though all charges had been dropped after the prosecutors realized his injuries were real, the Social Security Administration was unresponsive to Kull's attempt to reinstate benefits.
"Bureaucrats move at a glacial pace," said Lalor. "That's never acceptable, but it's even worse when they refuse to help a falsely-accused innocent man. The Social Security Administration should have expedited the reinstatement of benefits for Mr. Kull as soon as charges were dropped. It should have been handled immediately. There was no excuse for a wait. There was no excuse for them to bounce Mr. Kull from office to office and bureaucrat to bureaucrat with no answers. I'm glad we were able to help reinstate the benefits he earned from serving at Ground Zero, but this shouldn't happen again."
Kull was at Ground Zero on 9/11 and continued to work there during the recovery efforts. He suffered from respiratory problems and PTSD due to his service at Ground Zero. Kull was wrongly caught up in a large fraud investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney. Kull was one of eight retired NYPD and FDNY officers who were mistakenly caught in the prosecution. All charges were dropped when the prosecutors received evidence proving their disability.
"I had been going nowhere every time I called the Social Security Administration," said Kull. "I'm grateful for Assemblyman Lalor's efforts to get the Social Security Administration moving. It's a nightmare to be falsely accused. For months I lost the Social Security benefits I had earned and that my family and I needed. This was dragging out with no end in sight. Assemblyman Lalor fought for us, though, and we always knew he was in our corner."

Please watch this video on Common Core and why this illegal federal program
should be stopped. The video will be on cable channel 74 at 9:00 AM this
morning. There is a two billion dollar "smart bond" on the ballot from the
Governor for aiding the Common Core program in buying technology equipment,
please spread the word to vote "NO". I need help at the budget hearing, our
objective is to stop the raises for the own board. We now have a surplus of $4.6
million, part these money should be used o lower our property taxes. Please call
me if you can help at 245-1018.

Brewster, N.Y. – 09/27/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I
–Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military
Affairs Committee, issued the following statement today.
"I salute Governor Cuomo's trip overseas, to support our troops - particularly those from New York - and thank the Governor for reaffirming our solid commitment to fighting terrorism. As a former Air Force Officer and Academy graduate, I genuinely appreciate the Governor taking the time to demonstrate this kind of support for our troops and for their efforts. The Governor gets it and this trip sends a clear message to our troops that their fellow Americans are behind them each hour of each day. Supporting our troops and supporting America's fight against terrorism is so important given the recent rise of violence in the Middle East. I thank Governor Cuomo for representing New York in this bipartisan delegation to Afghanistan"
