1. Request to purchase town parkland on Illington Road
In a 3-1 vote, with Councilman Bianco voting no, the board referred a request from an Illington Road homeowner to purchase a six acre parcel of town owned parkland abutting her property to the Conservation Board and the Advisory Committee on Open Space.
2. Raising and keeping fowl legislation
The board set a public hearing for July 3 on the proposed law that would allow fowl to be kept on residential properties of at least 40,000 square feet.
3. Auction of town owned property
The date for the auction will be postponed to allow the town time to add about 10 more parcels to the auction list. The parcels are currently in the final stages of the foreclosure process.
4. Rezoning request for Old Crompond Road (Mandalay)
The board reviewed a revised plan to rezone a series of parcels in the Bear Mountain Triangle area to permit a mixed use development of 96 senior citizen units together with some retails stores and a stand alone senior center that would be donated to the town. The plan was referred to advisory boards for review.

Mr. Bazzo:
I enjoy your column in the Yorktown News very much. This week you mentioned the old farm house that was near Yorktown HS that was razed. The cost of tearing the house down, checking the soil for contaminants and landscaping was over $247,900. Did anyone get competitive bids for this job? If you gave me a quarter of a million to tear this house down I would have made $200K.

Pete Seeger believed in the power of song, convinced that individuals can make a difference. Largely misunderstood by his critics, including the U.S. government, for his views on peace, civil rights and ecology, Seeger went from the top of the hit parade to the top of the blacklist — banned from commercial television for more than 17 years. Seeger’s inspiring, but not always easy, story is told by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen,Arlo Guthrie, et al. and Seeger himself, through a remarkable historical archive.

Will Sean Patrick Maloney Support Obama’s Job Destroying Cap-and-Trade SchemeSean Patrick Maloney Will Have to Choose Between Saving Jobs
or Backing his Friends in D.C. WASHINGTON – Is Sean Patrick Maloney going to listen to New York voters and save American jobs, or will he fall in line with his Democrat allies and support President Obama’s latest cap-and-trade scheme that could cost the U.S. economy $50 billion a year and eliminate an estimated 224,000 jobs?
A recent study, issued by the United States Chamber of Commerce, found that President Obama’s new cap-and-trade edict will force more than a “third of the coal-fired power capacity to close by 2030.”
“Not only will this new Obama regulation cost billions of dollars for taxpayers, but it will limit American energy production and spike electricity prices – hurting families across America,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “New York families deserve a Republican leader in Congress that will stand up to President Obama and his Administration’s job-destroying regulations.”

Eldridge pretends to support the middle class while husband expands fortune via outsourcing

NY-19... NYGOP Chair Ed Cox today called out 27-year-old Democrat Congressional candidate Sean Eldridge for the bald-faced hypocrisy of attacking Rep. Chris Gibson on jobs issues while Eldridge funds his campaign with a fortune built partially on outsourcing.
Eldridge is married to Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes. In 2010, Facebook announced the creation of a new office in India in order to boost profits ahead of their IPO.
Two years after the announcement that Facebook would outsource jobs overseas, Hughes' net worth topped out at nearly a billion dollars.
"How dare Sean Eldridge attack Chris Gibson on jobs when his campaign is funded by his wealthy husband who outsourced jobs overseas to help expand his already vast fortune?" said Cox.
"Being accused of poor jobs policy by Sean Eldridge is like being called classless by Kim Kardashian."
Hughes and Eldridge purchased a $2 million home in the 19th Congressional District last year in order to establish residency so that Eldridge could run for office.
In 2011, Hughes and Eldridge purchased a $5 million home in a different district in which Eldridge was considering running.
