Bazzo Says: What Ticked Me Off This Week

Bazzo Says:
BY ANTHONY J. BAZZO
OF YORKTOWN NEWS & MAHOPAC NEWS

• One of the greatest disappointments is how Sen. Greg Ball turned out. When he ran for the Assembly, he was taking on powers-that-be that had to be brought down. I had no choice but to endorse him, and did so with enthusiasm. The Democrat opponents were not options. When he ran for the Senate against Mike Kaplowitz, he got Mike to play in his ballpark, which cost Mike the election. Mike had and has too much class and dignity to engage in politics the way Greg plays it. Now, Greg has endorsed Sean Patrick Maloney for Congress over Nan Hayworth for reported personal, petty reasons when anyone who has a brain can see the direction of the country is at stake. He betrays all those who voted for him.

Think about it. Maloney, who voted time and time again to shut out the veterans from the war memorials in D.C. during last year’s partial government shutdown, is endorsed by the chairman of the Armed Services Committee of the New York State Senate. Maloney—who had no problem allowing illegal immigrants to march on those same grounds during that same partial shutdown while they literally denounced America—is endorsed by a senator who made his bones denouncing the flood of illegals in this state.

Greg, why don’t you get it over with and endorse Cuomo over Astorino, who, like the rest of the Republicans in the senate, you refuse to help.  Then, after that endorsement, get the heck out and don’t let the door hit you in the butt as you weasel away.

• According to Phil Reisman’s Sunday column, Westchester BOL Chairman Mike Kaplowitz sent out a memo that reads, in part:

“The use of Board facilities for press conferences and/or announcements of a political nature are strictly prohibited. All activities of a political nature must be held outside of the Legislative offices and as a rule, Board employees are prohibited from engaging in political activity during the hours they are receiving Board compensation.”

It is a shame that Mike has to send out a memo stating what should be obvious. Yet, because Mike has done what people say they want done—put differences aside and work to get things done for the people of Westchester—he gets flack again, not from Republicans, but from Democrats. It seems from the column that there are legislators actively campaigning for Cuomo on our dime.

Now, it should be known, that Kaplowitz does not support Astorino for governor, so a memo such as this should be taken seriously. Mike is trying to protect the integrity of the County Legislature. Those in the legislature who have taken umbrage with him over this memo, and the column names one, need to grow up and realize that Mike is right on this. If you want to support Cuomo, do it on your dime, not ours.

• As I have written numerous times, hypocrisy is a hallmark of a Democrat. Democrat candidate for the State Senate district 40, Justin Wagner, proves my point. From a mailer sent out by the Republican challenger Terrence Murphy, it seems that the law firm that Wagner works for represents a company called Kinder Morgan. This company created the largest natural gas pipeline in the nation. They are now expanding to New York.

Now, unlike the leftists, I have no concern with how one earns a living. In fact, I usually say this topic is off limits. Yet, since Justin Wagner and his “angry moms” (is there a group of more self-important egomaniacs than these women?) have obsessed over the Algonquin Pipeline, I have a question:
Is Wagner only against pipelines that his law firm does not represent?

• How much longer will the aforementioned Justin Wagner and his people lie about Murphy’s position on the dopey Women’s Equality Act?  They know damn well that Murphy is not opposed to women’s rights, nor is Assemblyman Steve Katz. Both men support 90 percent of what is in that politicized bill.

I bring Katz into this because there is an ad that says Katz is against women’s equality because he voted against the Women’s Equality Act (WEA). Remember, in the Assembly, unlike in the Senate, the WEA was one bill, not 10 individual items. So, if you were an assemblyman and one item in the bill—say, infanticide/murder—offended you, you had to vote against the entire bill. It was all or nothing.

It is here where the Democrats lie and lie again, over and over. It was taught when one has to lie to make a point, one does not have a point to make. The single item that both Katz and Murphy are against—and their Democrat opponents know it—is the item that would allow abortion into the final month of pregnancy. This is obviously not about curtailing a woman’s “right to choose.” Nor is it a religious issue. It is literally about life and nobody, not even our loving liberal politicians, has the right to choose to kill a living baby in the final month.

What has happened to our society? What type of monsters are these Democrats to use this as a political weapon?
I am waiting for Murphy and/or Katz to take this fight to their opponents and not only make them defend their pro-infanticide position, but use the word infanticide! (Although, if what I heard last week is accurate, the Murphy camp may be content to sit on a significant lead and watch the Wagner campaign continue to crumble internally.)

My biggest problem is that Democrats of both sexes (are there more than two sexes yet?) are still not offended that their party defines equality as infanticide. Republicans, if the Democrats want to make this an issue, oblige them!
This is what I say. What say you?
