Bazzo Says: Who Is The Idiot?

Bazzo Says:
BY ANTHONY J. BAZZO
OF YORKTOWN NEWS & MAHOPAC NEWS
TITLE: Who Is The Idiot?

Justin Wagner, Democrat challenger for State Senate District 40, is either an idiot or he thinks the voters are. In a story, "Wagner calls Murphy anti-choice at Thornwood rally," that appeared in the Peekskill Daily Voice on Sept. 11 of all days, Justin Wager said his Republican opponent Terrence Murphy, is against the so-called "Women's Equality Act."

Wagner is quoted as saying, “This is one of those issues where there couldn’t be a clearer contrast: I am proudly pro-choice, and if elected, I will not rest until the full 10-point Women’s Equality Act is passed and signed into law. Equal pay, protecting a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, stronger protections against domestic violence and human trafficking—none of these are optional. We need to pass the full Women’s Equality Act."

As far as any one knows, Terrence Murphy is only against the tenth point in the act, which allows for abortion in the final month of pregnancy. Who in their right mind supports this?

The other nine proposals in the “Women’s Equality Act” have already passed the Senate as separate proposals. Those proposals include such things as domestic violence, human trafficking and stronger work place protections. At a Tea Party debate last month, Terrence Murphy said he supported all of those provisions. By his comments, Wagner is insinuating that Murphy supports violence and discrimination against women.

In addition, these nine provisions, obviously, are already on the books as law either at the state or federal level. These nine provisions simply give those laws more teeth. Justin Wagner is saying that if elected, Murphy would try to scale back or repeal these laws. He thinks female voters, and a good deal of male voters, are dumb enough to believe it.

Maybe they are.

The only item Terrence Murphy has publicly spoken out against, and you can read it for yourself in an article published in this paper prior to the primary, is item 10, which as described above, would allow abortion in the final month of pregnancy. Some call this barbaric and evil act "late- term abortion." I call it infanticide, or just plain murder in the name of “women’s rights.”

Even though debates have focused on the question of when life begins, there is zero debate that from the seventh month onward, the fetus in question is a life. It can, with the advances in today's medicine, survive outside the womb. If there is another definition of life, I would like Justin Wagner and Gov. Cuomo to tell us what it is.

The Founders of this country decreed in the Declaration of Independence that the first protected right—a right we are born with and that is not bestowed upon us by the government—is the right to life. In spite of the blurring of lines between Republican and Democrats in Albany, on this point there is a distinct separation of beliefs between the parties. Republicans believe in life!

The only reason the "Woman's Equality Act" has not passed is because the Democrats in the Assembly refuse to help women by immediately passing the nine, common sense items. The demand that infanticide be legalized or nothing passes at all. This is done on purpose because Democrats knew that Republicans (or any clear thinking, decent person) would never agree to abortion in the final month of pregnancy. Therefore, Cuomo and Democratic candidates across the state can say that Republicans refuse to pass the Women’s Equality Act, and then rev up the fictional Republican War on Women.

What Terrence Murphy needs to do is ask Justin Wagner, “Will you vote to pass 90 percent of what Democrats wanted as part of the Women’s Equality Act, or are you so radical that you demand 100 percent compliance from the Republicans? What is wrong, Mr. Wagner, with passing nine items that will help women, and then have an open period of debate on the tenth item?”

I think we know the answer.

According to Mr. Wagner’s quote that I referenced at the top of the column, the legalization of infanticide is something he really, really, likes. If Wagner is not granted the “right” to commit infanticide (which, Earth to Wagner, based on birth rates infanticide kills more female than male babies) he will deny women their right to equality while saying that Murphy is the one who discriminates against women.

He is banking on voters, mostly Democrats, to simply buy his talking points. As I said, either he is an idiot or he thinks we are.

So why is this such an important issue to Mr. Wagner? Well, being devoid of original thought, he is using the playbook of the governor, who will spend a reported $200,000 to $300,000 a day from his $35 million war chest across the state to paint his challenger, Republican Rob Astorino, as too conservative for New York. As such, Wagner, like the governor, will focus on social issues, which are irrelevant. Abortion, gun control and gay marriage are all settled law in New York.

No one on the Republican side is proposing a repeal of a woman's “right to choose” their babies (except, of course, during the final month of pregnancy) as it is the law of the land. Abortion in the final month is not allowed and never should be. There is not one Republican proposal to limit access to contraceptives.

Curtailing abortions is not on the docket, as Supreme Court ruling prohibits this. The real argument in dealing the contraceptives is, who pays for them? Obama are as upheld by the Supreme Court, answers that question for New Yorkers.

Are Justin Wagner and Andrew Cuomo suggesting that Terrence Murphy and Rob Astorino have the power to supersede the Supreme Court? Again, who is the idiot?

Yes, Terrence Murphy and Rob Astorino would like to see a repeal of the "SAFE Act." There is nothing in that law that would prevent the slaughters it was touted to prevent. It does, however, make law-abiding citizens potential criminals and has been used by news outlets to publish the home addresses of law-abiding gun owners. To repeal the Safe Act, laws would need to be passed in both the Assembly and the Senate. That will never happen. So, however Terrence Murphy or Rob Astorino or even Justin Wagner may feel about the SAFE Act, it is in no danger of repeal.
Are Justin Wagner and Andrew Cuomo suggesting that a Gov. Rob Astorino or the State Senate could act unilaterally? Who is the idiot?

The most disheartening thing about all of this is that I see well-informed Democrats citing these reasons for electing Wagner and Cuomo over Murphy and Astorino. I watch their postings on social media, have had conversations with them and they all feel that gun control and abortion are in danger if Republicans are elected. On the national level, it has been reported that the supreme idiot of the Democrats, Nancy Pelosi, said the fate of civilization is in jeopardy if the Republicans take the Senate.

The sad thing is that since Lyndon Baines Johnson, the Democrat playbook has based on fear and well-informed Democrats continually succumb to that fear. If you actually listen to either Terrence Murphy or Rob Astorino, you hear a platform of hope (not Obama’s version) for a better tomorrow.

The Democrats want you to fear tomorrow, want you to think Republicans want to poison the air and water. The Democrats—both state and federal—continuously marginalize individuals (especially those of color) by telling them that they are permanent victims and the best they can hope for is a mediocre life provided to them by the government, if you elect them. Democrats tell Americans that if they pull the lever for Republicans, they will be homeless and without healthcare and starve to death.

Republicans are not to be feared. The Democrat playbook is.

I really do not think these well-informed Democrats are that stupid, but they cannot get themselves to pull the lever for a Republican (due to years of the brainwashing I referenced in the above paragraph) and are reaching for a reason not to. The sad thing is even though I do not believe these well-informed Democrats are idiots, they believe that you are and are counting on your ignorance to pave the path to victory.

Prove them wrong. Do not be the idiot they think you are.
This is what I say. What say you?
