Bazzo Says: Sexual Politics

Bazzo Says:
BY ANTHONY J. BAZZO
OF YORKTOWN NEWS & MAHOPAC NEWS
TITLE: Sexual Politics

It now matters who you sleep with

For those who think it is nobody's business who you sleep with—especially the government's—watch out. There is a state launching a campaign to collect coordinated data on residents’ sexual orientation as part of a comprehensive effort to improve health and human services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered residents—or so that is the stated reason. That state's health department says claim to be "looking out for you" and so they want to know all about your sexual orientation. It would be the first such statewide effort in the country.

That state will sic eight agencies on the collection of data on LGBT people who use their services. The agencies are: Department of Health, Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Office for the Aging, Office of Mental Health, Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Office of Children and Family Services and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

These agencies will ask people using their services to report their sexual orientation on forms, along with other identifying data state agencies typically collect. It is no coincidence that all of those agencies  cost the state a lot of money.

Not only are there laws on the books at both the federal and that state level barring discrimination on a host of categories including sexual orientation, but what reason could exist for those particular agencies to need this information before you can access their help? The only logical assumption you can make in this political climate, is it gives them access to more things about your life, because, by using these programs, your care is something they are going to be paying for. So, if they have to cover people then they are going to be able to dictate how those people live.

Yet, you may ask, "Why does that matter?” The states will respond, "We are paying for it and you are out there doing things that insurance companies say are riskier, so it could be problematic." I have written numerous columns about how the nature of government is to get bigger and gets bigger and will wield more power over you and create reasons for doing so by saying it is for your own good.

This is what our founders feared because they lived it. It's why you constantly have to fight for smaller government, because the natural order of bureaucracy is to get bigger, more powerful, and in doing so becomes more inefficient all while robbing you of your God-given liberty. The source of that power is the power over how people live. By the way, it is not some "red state” implementing these policies.

It is New York.
It is Gov. Andrew “What, me corrupt?” Cuomo.
It is Dan O’Connell, director of the state Health Department’s AIDS Institute.
Even worse, it is you, the New York voter.

Genitalia politics

In an effort to counter gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino's attempt to get another ballot line, "Stop Common Core," Gov. Cuomo has launched his own with the  “Women's Equality Party."

This is his attempt to hide from the voters his and the Democrat Assembly's failure to pass a "women's rights bill." It consisted of 10 items. These were passed by the Assembly as one bill. The State Senate took the items up individually and passed nine. It should be noted, that all of these nine "new measures" were already on the books in one form or another both at the state and federal level.

The problem was with item number 10, which failed in the Senate. This item allowed abortion to be performed up to the ninth month, which amounts to nothing less than legal infanticide. It also allowed non-doctors to perform abortions. How insane is this?

Polls show that even in New York, 60 percent of New Yorkers are against these two items. You have to wonder what the other 40 percent are thinking to believe it is alright to kill a living human being. Let us face it, there are different opinions on when life begins, but there is no dispute that by the seventh month, with today's advances, a baby can live outside the womb. That is life!

Instead of the Democrats in the Assembly taking up the nine individual bills, and passing them, thus just leaving the tenth for discussion, they refused. So, by design, none have reached the governor's desk. This is so it can be used as a wedge issue during the campaign. The Democrats and the governor can now lie (shocking, I know) and say Republicans hate women.

Female voters in New York, possibly the most gullible in the free world, will buy it hook, line and sinker.
As I have said time and again, because the Democrats or the governor cannot run on the economy or countering the culture of corruption in Albany, they must deflect you from the real issues. This is one. Their nefarious hope is you will vote with your genitalia not your head. This is Boss Tweed stuff, 2014-style.
This is what I say. What say you?
