Bazzo Says: Critics Always Prove My Point

Bazzo Says:
BY ANTHONY J. BAZZO
OF YORKTOWN NEWS & MAHOPAC NEWS
TITLE:Critics Always Prove My Point:

For liberals, history begins when they wake up in the morning

Critic says:
“In his April 24 column, he (Bazzo) took issue with Jim McKean’s op-ed from the previous week. Bazzo complained that McKean had made a comment about racism in our society ‘without producing one piece of evidence to back up his statement,’ and went on to say ‘Oh, how I wish I were afforded the same latitude.’
Give us a break Mr. Bazzo. I’m sure I could document unsubstantiated comments from nearly every column you’ve ever written, such as the following statement a mere three paragraphs later in the same column: ‘Question: Who is it that continually points out that Obama is our first black president? Answer: Democrats.’
Really? I note that Mr. Bazzo didn’t provide any evidence for that whopper so I guess we the readers ‘are to take this damning statement on faith’ to use his own diatribe against him.”

Bazzo says:
Next week is my 300th consecutive column. This is over seven years. I also have been doing a cable access show for four years. All my work, print and video, is available on my blog, Bazzomanifesto, which you can find the link to at the bottom of every column. In other words, I have a body of work. Taken together, this body of work consists of different narratives on a number of topics, with racism being one.
On this topic, there are a number of columns where I back up statements my critics says I do not. So when this critic pretends that this is the first time I made this statement, he is being disingenuous. I would challenge any of my critics to find where I first mention a particular statement not backed up with source material. Both my employers, past and present, required me to provide such proof. This employer prints that proof at the bottom of my columns, in the form of sources. So, go right ahead dear critic, document my “unsubstantiated comments from nearly every column.”

Critic says:
“I know I personally have no proof one way or the other, but I believe reasonable minds would be highly skeptical of Mr. Bazzo’s blanket statement further on in the same article that he and other conservatives only see a president, not a black president.”

Bazzo says:
If you have no proof, then it is because you do not seek it. I have found that people of all political persuasions usually sit in rooms of like-minded individuals to validate their opinions. To me, that is the definition of boring. To learn, to grow, one must associate not with people who say “you are right” but people who say, “prove it.”

There is a story of the then publisher of the Washington Post, Kathleen Graham, who after the 1974 Nixon landslide said, “I do not understand this, I do not know anyone who voted for him.”

No “reasonable mind” should be highly skeptical of my statement, for it is not the conservative who marginalizes people on basis of race. It is the Democrat Party that bases its electoral success on policies specific to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and nationality. All of the common “obias,” “isms” and “ists” can be traced to the Democrat Party’s play book of identity politics. The politics of envy and victimization is not the play book of Republicans. Reasonable people know that!

Conservatism promotes policies that seek to lift all people, regardless of group.  Conservatives do not see a “black” president, but instead a president who promotes and executes policies they find harmful to the nation. The disagreement IS policy and it is based on policy, not race. Reasonable people know that!

The use of race is designed to stop that disagreement by intimidation. To disagree is to be racist. The sycophants believe this president is soo right on the issues, there can be no other reason to disagree but on race. Except there ARE other reasons, and reasonable people know that!

Critic says:
“As an unaffiliated independent myself, I am always put off by anyone who makes assumptions/statements about people based solely on stigmatizing group labels as Bazzo does in many of his columns when he refers to liberals, democrats, conservatives, et al. Such political bigotry always seemed similar to the kind of thinking that also nurtures racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.”

Bazzo says:
So now I am to be intimidated by being called a political bigot. Republican, Democrat, Liberal and Conservative, to name a few, are organized political parties with their own platforms decided on every four years. These parties are made up of like-minded people.  The people enrolled, join willingly. So my critics do not misinterpret me, I say like-minded, not wholly agreeable to everything written in the platform. One may join an organization and not agree with everything.  So I ask my critic, is he saying these parties promote bigotry?

I do not believe in the political arena there are independent people. I believe those in the political arena believe in something. Then, being a representative republic, not a true democracy, one looks for someone with whom they mostly agree and will promote those beliefs in elective office. Someone truly independent is someone with no convictions and goes with whatever is the popular template of the time. I have no use for these people or people who do not vote. I believe, right or wrong, one must stand for something. That one must fight for that something they believe in.

So now for my “cute but essentially meaningless in context, legally indemnifying statement.” My  highly-biased opinions he (I) would like us (you) to believe are facts.”
This is what I say. What say you?
