Will Sean Patrick Maloney Support President Obama’s Budget?

Higher Taxes? More Spending? Sounds Right To Maloney

WASHINGTON – President Obama is set to release his budget today. If it’s anything like in the past, it’ll have more spending, higher taxes, and will be an ineffective way to deal with our fiscal crisis. That sounds right up Sean Patrick Maloney’s alley.

Maloney and Obama have been allies since Maloney has been in Congress. So it wouldn’t be surprising for him to support The White House’s plan. But New York voters expect better. They want a representative, not a rubber stamp. Maloney owes his constituents an answer.

“Sean Patrick Maloney should stop hiding and answer whether or not he will support President Obama’s budget,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “If he is willing to stand up for trillions in more debt and new taxes, he owes his constituents in New York an explanation.”

President Obama Is Set To Unveil His Annual Budget Today. “Striving for unity among Democrats rather than compromise with Republicans, President Barack Obama will unveil an election-year budget on Tuesday that drops earlier proposals to cut future Social Security benefits and seeks new money for infrastructure, education and job training.” (Andrew Taylor, “Obama To Appeal To Democrats In 2015 Budget,” Associated Press, 3/3/14)

Associated Press: “Obama To Appeal To Democrats In 2015 Budget” (Associated Press, 3/3/14)

President Obama Is Proposing An Additional $56 Billion In New Spending. “Yet Obama will propose an additional package of $56 billion in spending priorities, the aides say, half for defense and half for domestic programs. It would be fully paid for by cutting spending and narrowing tax loopholes, such as boosting collections from U.S. firms doing business overseas, they said.” (Alan Fram, “Obama 2015 Budget Focuses on Boosting Economy,” Associated Press, 3/4/14)

SENATOR GREG BALL & OPERATION PROM TO OFFER $1 PROM DRESSES ON APRIL 6TH

Brewster, N.Y. – 03/04/2014 – With prom season right around the corner, Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) is teaming up with Operation PROM to help students attend prom by offering designer prom dresses for only $1. The prom dress sale will take place on Sunday, April 6th from noon to 4 PM at Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac, NY.

“Prom season is a wonderful time of year for high school students. However, prom season often produces a large financial burden on students and hardworking families. That's why I’m teaming up with Operation PROM, an innovative not-for-profit that helps students attend their proms by offering designer prom dresses for only $1,” said Senator Greg Ball.
Prom dresses will be available from designers such as Ralph Lauren, Jovani, The Dressy Group, BCBG, Dressbarn, Night Moves by Allure and others. Students that would like to attend the prom dress sale must pre-register for the event by visiting: www.OperationPROM.org. On the dress application page, choose Putnam County, NY.
According to their mission statement, Operation PROM provides resources, opportunity and mentoring to students in need. Services are available to children in financial need, those who are homeless, sick, or disabled. School supplies and scholarships are available in addition to Operation PROM’s regular donations of prom dresses and tuxedos.
“Teaming up with Senator Ball to bring Operation PROM to students in the Putnam area has allowed us to expand our service area and provide Prom dresses at a low-cost for students and families who may be faced with financial hardships in this tough economy,” said Noel D'Allacco, founder of Operation PROM. “Operation PROM is thrilled to be working with Senator Ball this Prom season.  It has allowed us to expand our outreach to provide low-cost Prom dresses to students in Putnam and the surrounding communities.”
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will take this opportunity to provide safety messages to our young people and remind them about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, drinking and driving, drug impaired driving and distracted driving.
“Attending the prom is truly one of the highlights of a high school student’s career. However, peer pressure and sometimes the costs involved to go to the prom can turn this positive experience for young people into a stressful event with the opposite effect. By providing leadership to insure that attending the prom will be affordable for all students, Senator Ball has taken a positive step in making prom season in Putnam County a truly successful and positive experience for our young people,” said Sheriff Donald B. Smith. “I join Senator Ball, our educators in Putnam County and our parents in working together to make prom season 2014 a truly memorable and safe experience for our most precious resource, the youth of Putnam County.”
Senator Ball and Operation PROM have also teamed up with several local beauty and pageant queens to make the event a success. Mrs. New York America Melissa Luiso, Mrs. Westchester County Jennifer Czarniecki, Miss Italia Peekskill Nadia Manginelli and Miss Cinco de Mayo Peekskill Arianna Memoli will all participate in the event.
“Operation PROM is an organization that gives back to the high school communities in a time when it is economically needed. We are very honored to have been given this privilege by Senator Ball and Noel. We look forward to helping out at the sale,” said Teresa Chang, Executive Director of Peekskill Pageants.
