KATZ: NY SET TO LOSE $120 MILLION

Assemblyman Steve Katz (R,C,I - Yorktown) is reminding residents that Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has set up the State of New York to lose $120 million in federal aid by refusing to reform the state's welfare system.

"The federal government set up a deadline of this Saturday, February 22nd, to pass legislation that ensures welfare dollars aren't used at strip clubs, for gambling, or for vices like cigarettes and alcohol," Katz said.  "The State Senate passed the Public Assistance Integrity Act in order to bring New York up to federal code.  The Assembly, under the guise of Speaker Silver, refused to act. With no legislative session days between today and this weekend's deadline, he's elected to forfeit that aid.  Silver continues to help make it rain with taxpayer dollars."

Assemblyman Steve Katz is a co-sponsor of the Public Assistance Integrity Act (A.2386).

next UTY meeting

Dear members

It's time to renew your BJ'S registration, but you need to send in your dues of $10.00 to the United Taxpayer's of Yorktown at PO BOX 180 Yorktown Heights NY 10598. The BJ'S fee is now $26.84 for the year. I will go to BJ's to register my renewal fee today so you can sign up.

The next UTY meeting will be held on Feb. 26, at 7:30 PM at the Yorkttown town hall. If you attend you can pay your dues there for the year.

Castle oil company at 333-2400 gives our members a reduction in the price of oil. I just paid $3.84 per gal, if you get a better price let me known. One of our members just paid $4.26 much to high. Please call the sale rep. Larry Servedio at 914 381-6637 for the current price for our members, you should not be paying more then I paid.

This Monday the Yorktown school district will most likely vote yes on full day kindergarten at the Middle School at 7:00PM. I have been the only negative voice at the meetings. It cost the taxpayers $1.5million to start. The district is using a one time grant and extra state aid to cover the cost of starting this new baby sitting program.

Looks like no new town board member until November's election, not good for the residents of Yorktown.

Our Supervisor is in favor of putting X drug users on a property in Yorktown.

Please watch my shows on You Tube (the Watchdog report)

Please come to our meeting we need to do something about these high fuel prices and high taxes in Yorktown.

Andre Barnett, the People's Choice for the Conservatives' Voice!

Andre N. Barnett is not a "career politician," and, to be honest with you, he does not plan to become one. He’s a citizen with integrity and values who achieved his American dream through adhering to the core principles upon which America was founded. He is all the things we say we want and need in a candidate.

He once told me, "I am running because I love America, the American dream and American culture. Our nation can do better."

Andre is a true American patriot.

His participation in the military exemplifies his loyalty and commitment to this country. His Faith in God, family, education, hard work, unity and the opportunities that this great nation offers, gave Mr. Barnett the conviction and love that he has for his country today. He desires to give back to this nation the liberties that enabled him to achieve his dreams as a successful soldier, a businessman, a small business owner, a body builder and a sought-after fitness model who has appeared in many publications throughout the world. Through Military and business exploits, Andre Barnett traveled the globe and lived in various countries. This gave him the opportunity to study and monitor other governments, health care systems, tax systems, educational programs and of course military activities.
Andre Said “I have to do the next right thing. There is so much wrong with Washington today and it needs more everyday people to come in and put common sense and practical policies in place.”
After meeting with members of congress on Capitol Hill and talking with constituents, he believes that what is wrong with Washington is that a blind eye is being turned toward constitutional law. As well, there’s a habitual go along with bad policy just because your "party" told you to do so mentality. More families are struggling today than at almost any time in our history. The outcry is real, as is the pain and hardship being caused by these elected officials that get to Washington and somehow forget about the people who sent them to DC to work for them.
“This is one of the issues that convinced me to run, if I didn't try to do something about it, then I couldn't complain if no one else did.”

He understands that America needs to set a new and better course in order to survive as a free nation. He has vowed to no longer stand by and watch this great country continue to be led by a corporate bureaucracy for its own profit and political gain.

Barnett has endeavored to uphold and restore the original principles that were established by our forefathers and that made the United States of America the greatest nation on this planet.

He is passionate about The United States of America continuing the legacy of world leadership through example.  That includes our faith in God and our traditional American values. His solution is one of truth, fairness and faith.

“Our country was built on faith and values, and, through these, we can do all things.” Andre Barnett is a classic human portrait of the American Dream, an American Success story and a true leader.  Get to know him.  You’ll like him.

The Republican Party has a long and proud history of abolition and standing up against the dangers of tyranny. Today though, the Republican Party seems to be losing its way. Look at how they always try to exclude non-career politicians from being a part of the discussion, (for those not working on Capitol Hill, that would be you), but, as Tim Johnson says, "This is my party, and you cannot invite me to my party"

“We have to remember that, as a leader, your job is to lead and to lead everyone under your charge. When elected to office, you are a servant of the people, and you represent all the people, whether they voted for you or not.”- Andre Barnet

So, will you please take a moment to Check Andre out HERE, Volunteer and even Donate a couple bucks. I would ask you to host a small informational or meet & greet at your home or office, and get to know Andre and then decide for yourself! Or at the very least share this email with anyone you know who votes, no matter what party affiliation they are! Thanks

Sean Patrick Maloney Looks The Other Way While New Medicare Part D Regulations Continue To Hurt Seniors
Seniors Will Lose Out on More HealthCare Choices

WASHINGTON New York seniors are already feeling the devastating impact of ObamaCare’s cuts to Medicare, which are reducing access and limiting their healthcare choices.  Now seniors in New York and across the country may be set to lose even more.

According to a new impact study by the American Action Forum, regulations proposed by the Obama Administration last month could place 14 million Medicare Part D beneficiaries nationwide at risk of losing their current prescription drug plans. Seniors utilize Part D plans to help cover the skyrocketing costs of prescription drugs. Sean Patrick Maloney has done nothing to combat the costly effects that this would have on seniors in his state.

“First Obamacare and now Medicare Part D, seniors are being thrown a one-two punch from Sean Patrick Maloney and House Democrats who have supported this failed law and have kept the door open for even more harmful side effects,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Maloney should know that what seniors in his district don’t need is more uncertainty in regards to their healthcare plans. Enough is enough.”

Westchester Legislators Investing in Important Sewage Infrastructure Repairs

White Plains, NY – The Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) advanced two major investments in sewage infrastructure repairs this week to help protect the environment and better serve communities where the sewage facilities and lines are located.

The Tarrytown Forcemain project will replace 2.75 miles of thirty-inch diameter pipeline conveying raw sewage from the Villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow to a gravity sewer that leads to the Yonkers Joint Treatment Plant in the City of Yonkers. The existing forcemain, constructed in 1978, has ruptured several times over the years, resulting in the release of partially treated sewage and a number of claims against New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) that are being settled pursuant to an Order of Consent.

The $14.8 million project received necessary bond approval by the BOL Infrastructure Committee, chaired by Legislator MaryJane Shimsky (D-Hastings-on Hudson). The total amount to be bonded will be $12.6 million, with $2 million for design and construction management already appropriated. To reach the total cost of the project, the BOL added $5,250,000 to the County’s 2014 Capital Budget, as $9,550,000 had been approved and appropriated previously.

“The only way to protect the County’s aging infrastructure is to make timely investments for repairs before situations advance to crisis proportions,” said Shimsky. “The County needs to move forward quickly with this work, both to protect the community and to comply with the consent order, and I’m grateful that my Board colleagues on the Infrastructure Committee understand this and have given these investments their full support.”

Additionally, the BOL Infrastructure Committee approved $625,000 of funding to help relocate a portion of the County’s sewage trunk line running through property adjacent to Warburton Avenue in the City of Yonkers and currently owned by River Club, LLC. In 2007, the County’s sewage line on the property broke, and the relocation of 545 feet of pipe was determined to be beneficial to the property owner and County, which has an easement on the property. The total repair project will be $1 million, with the property owner picking up $375,000 of the projected cost.

“Westchester County residents expect that vital infrastructure projects be undertaken to ensure public safety and support for municipal services,” said BOL Majority Leader Catherine Borgia (D-Ossining). “These investments end up saving money on more costly repair projects down the road. The economic growth and future prosperity of our communities depend on our diligence in this regard.”

The bonding legislation for the projects still needs full BOL approval, which is expected soon.

Cox to Cuomo: Reimburse the State for Taxpayer-funded Campaign Ads
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: David Laska
dlaska@nygop.org
518.462.2601
ALBANY, NY... NYGOP Chair Ed Cox today called on Governor Andrew Cuomo to reimburse New York State taxpayers for state-run television ads that promote Andrew Cuomo's reelection campaign.

Andrew Cuomo has spent over $100 million of taxpayer money on an ad campaign that preposterously declares New York "open for business," despite New York's status as the most taxed, most regulated, least economically free, least business-friendly state in America.

The Cuomo administration still has yet to finish writing the rules that will govern the "Start Up NY" program, the foremost initiative touted in the advertisements. Without the program in place, the ads are robbed of all substance and serve only to boost Andrew Cuomo's political profile.

"The Governor's failure to establish rules and an operational framework for 'Start Up NY' in a timely manner reveal the program as a thinly-veiled excuse to run taxpayer-funded reelection ads for Andrew Cuomo," said NYGOP Chair Ed Cox.

"The Governor's campaign must reimburse the state for these blatant political advertisements."
