Bazzo Says: Bazzo To Cuomo: You Are Not King Cuomo

Bazzo Says:
BY ANTHONY J. BAZZO
OF YORKTOWN NEWS
TITLE:  Hey, Cuomo: You are not king

Last Friday on the Albany radio show, The Capitol Pressroom, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said members of the GOP with extreme views, (read that as Conservatives and people of the Tea Party) have no place in New York, but moderate Republicans (read that as RINO’s, Republicans in name only) do. This, according to a story in last Saturday’s New York Post by Aaron Short.
Cuomo went on to define conservatives as anti-gay, pro-life and anti-assault weapons ban. Now, while the Post article does not quote Cuomo as having used the word “conservatives,” transcripts of his remarks show he did indeed say conservatives.

To Democrats in general and liberals in particular, any person who holds views other than theirs is “extreme.” Name a time when you heard or read a story on conservatives or Tea Party members where the word “extreme” was not used. Think long and hard about it.

The governor also defined what the Republicans must stand for if they are going to win elections. According to him, Republicans must agree with well, Democrats! Now, I submit to you that if Republicans were to start agreeing with the Democrat…that would make them Democrats. You see, our governor believes in a two party system as long as both parties believe in the same things—Democrat things!

Now, Cuomo may be the governor, but no one died and left him King. He does not get to decide who is worthy of living in New York and who is not. This is a scary mindset. The top elected official in New York, a leader of the party that professes tolerance, believes we must only be tolerant of those who agree with his party. The rest of the citizenry can just pack up and leave.
He is either a demagogue or nuts. To place the power to tax and make law in the hands of a man with a mindset such as this should frighten any sane person. You are seeing now in Washington, D.C. what someone with that mindset does with that kind of power.

Let us start with those “extremists,” who Cuomo says are pro-assault weapon. First, there is no such thing as an assault weapon. Weapons that can shoot without pulling the trigger each time are already banned unless licensed by the Federal Government. To those anti-Second Amendment advocates—and that is who t

hey really are—any weapon that can kill is an assault weapon. The term assault weapon is a liberal, made-up phrase, like man-made global warming and second-hand smoke. The reason the Second Amendment was put in place was to protect the citizenry from the government. According to our governor, the people who put that Amendment in, our Founders, would have no place in his New York.
Now, let us talk about the “extremists” who are anti-gay. To not agree with someone’s lifestyle is not the same as hating that person or group. There are people who have populated my life whose choices or lifestyles I did not agree with, who have been or who still are my friends and acquaintances.

The real extremist is the one who says if you disagree, you hate. Besides, freedom of association is a basic tenet of our society. It is the extremist who believes that government must force you to associate with those whom you wish not to. This governor, by his words, believes if you do not want to associate with people or groups he approves of, you must pack-up and leave.

To show the governor’s ignorance or that he, like our president, is an out-right liar, there is a political group called the Log Cabin Republicans. This is a group of gay Republicans, mostly conservative Republicans, who have found a home in the Republican Party. There are chapters all over this state and country. You can find them at nominating conventions, where they are welcomed.

The fact is, one can be gay and not only be a Republican but get this, also a registered Conservative, big C! It is the intolerant Democrats who say the gays who are not Democrats are turn coats, or worse.

Finally, let us talk about the “extremists” who believe in life and that it starts at conception. Cuomo is saying that those people, their churches and their religious leaders must leave.

Goodbye Cardinal Dolan!

In Cuomo’s New York, only those who believe in killing the defenseless are allowed. I submit that to choose life is pro-choice, because after all, it is a choice.

The governor believes that those who make choices that he himself would not, should pack-up and leave. Never mind that freedom is there to protect the minority view (if it really is the minority view). This man is not tolerant, but instead a bully. By the way, who in their right mind actually believes Cuomo wants to help Republicans get elected?

As a self-professed conservative (small c), I am not going to write how I belong in this state as much as the governor does. For to do that would validate his position, that there is someone out there who gets to decide where I can live and call home. As a self-professed conservative, I am not going to let the leading Democrat in New York tell me what my beliefs are.
What I am going to write is that if Cuomo believes he gets to decide who is a New Yorker and who is not, and then has the gall to define what I believe, and say that since he disapproves of those supposed beliefs that I should get out of town by sun down—well, he can go to hell.

This is what I say. What say you?
